A mysterious Professor Watt has kidnapped the Sorceress of Circuits and sabotaged her castle of electrical inventions. Her apprentice โ a young inventor named Charge โ is holding the place together alone, and the gears are still smoking. To get the Sorceress back, your child has to learn how electricity actually works.
The castle teaches them. The Sorceress kept giant charged particles as pets, so there are glowing cats wandering the halls that turn out to be cations, and picking two of them up is how you find out what like charges do. Further in there are batteries made of lemons, a light bulb powered by a pickle, and circuits that have to be rewired before a door will open.
What they'll learn
โ Positive and negative charge
โ Conductors and insulators
โ Current, voltage and resistance
โ Simple circuits with batteries and bulbs
โ Series and parallel circuits
โ Lemon batteries, potato batteries, and pickle light bulbs
Why it sticks. Kids aren't reading facts, they're using each concept to solve a puzzle and move the story forward. That builds the conceptual foundation that makes equations feel intuitive later โ when they meet V=IR in a physics class, they'll already know what it's describing.
How big it is
About 30,000 words across 272 scenes โ the length of a middle-grade novel, except that it branches. There are nearly 500 choices in it, and different decisions lead down different paths, so a second play-through isn't the same as the first.
"It is rare to find a resource that is so educational and still engagingโฆ As soon as she finished, she immediately restarted and played it again!" โ Parent review
"I LOVE ITโฆ the lemon power and pickle power are BRILLIANT." โ Elim, age 12

Accessibility
Text is high-contrast against the background. The game is not currently compatible with screen readers, and some puzzles require distinguishing colors in the images. There's a read-aloud button that uses your device's text-to-speech, reading the story and the choices aloud โ it isn't an audiobook-quality recording, but it works.
